Frequently Asked Questions

Why hire a personal trainer?
How well do you think a sports team would perform without a coach? A trainer serves as your coach to educate and help motivate you to develop positive habits around fitness and nutrition. Most people need guidance and clear direction when developing these habits that will become a regular part of life. In addition to education and motivation many people need someone to hold them accountable. Your trainer tracks your progress and continually refines your program. As issues arise your trainer develops solutions to keep you on track.
Who hires a personal trainer?
Anyone really. We train a wide variety of people for many different reasons. Our youngest client is 17 conditioning for the upcoming sports season. Our oldest client is 83 who wanted to get his energy back. In between we have clients that are executives, stay at home moms, we even have a client that is visually impaired. More specifically, anyone who does not have time to go to the gym or does not feel comfortable in the gym we can help.
Is in-home training expensive?
First, when you compare the cost to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, it really is not that expensive. When you are fit and healthy, medical bills can drop, sick days are reduced and you are more energetic and productive. Those things translate directly to positively impact your financial bottom line.
Second, a good trainer should want you to "graduate" from personal training and transition into working out on your own. That means they have successfully instilled healthy lifestyle habits that you can now practice for the rest of your life.
Finally, personal training is a personal service. The number of times you meet with a trainer depends on your skill level and your motivation. Some clients work with a trainer three times a week, because they are not motivated to workout by themselves. Other see a trainer twice a month to get fresh ideas on changing up their routine.
How many sessions per week are necessary?
Two to three is generally a good number. Having said that, keep in mind personal training is a personal service. The number of visits will depend on your motivation and your fitness level. Regardless of how many times you meet with us during the week, we advocate cardio training on the days in-between. Remember the body is at its best when moving. If you do some sort of exercise 5 days per week, you will see results.
How long until I see results?
Exercise has a cumulative effect. If you are consistent with workouts and eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, we typically see noticable physical changes in 4 weeks.
